RR POGOY and the rest of TNT will play one final game on Wednesday against Barangay Ginebra in its defense of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup title.
Pogoy is worn down but grateful for a shot at it.
“Ang saya kasi akala namin tapos na ‘yung season namin," said Pogoy after the Tropang 5G pulled off a 98-90 victory to arrange that winner-take-all match on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

"Sobrang proud ako sa mga teammates ko. Lumaban talaga hanggang dulo kahit kulang kami, kahit wala si Calvin [Oftana], BGR [Brandon Ganuelas Rosser], talagang sabi ko sa kanila, puso-puso na lang ‘to,” said Pogoy.
Pogoy has been one of the more consistent locals for TNT with averages of a team-high 16.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.8 steals, doing so while being the main defender of Ginebra import Justin Brownlee.
Pogoy said his goal against Brownlee is to tire him out as much as possible, but admitted that he too is so exhausted because of how good Brownlee is, as proven by the import scoring 54 and 52 on consecutive finals games.
Pogoy is expected to guard Brownlee again come Game 7.
“Hindi mo naman talaga ma-stop si JB. Ang goal ko lang naman talaga is pagurin si JB.”
“Pagod na pagod na rin ako,” said Pogoy, laughing. “Game 1 to Game 6, bugbog na katawan ko. Pero ganun talaga. ‘Yun ang trabaho namin. At ready naman ako sa task na ganyan. Happy din ako na palitan lang ‘yung panalo. Bahala na mapagod basta manalo.”
“Shoutout kay Brownlee. Hindi napapagod talaga. Composed,” said Pogoy.
Heading to Game 7, Pogoy said it will all come down to who wants it more.
“Game 7 kasi, wala na ‘yan, kung sino na gusto manalo, kung sino ang gusto manalo. Sino din ‘yung pumapasok ang tira. Ganun ang Game 7. Hindi na Xs and Os. Kung sino na ang gustong manalo,” said Pogoy.
He also believes that injured players Calvin Oftana (calf), Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser (ankle), and Jayson Castro (ankle) will see action in Game 7.
“Right now, I declare, maglalaro sila next game,” said Pogoy with a smile. “Para sa akin. I will declare. Kasama si Lord diyan. Maglalaro sila sa Game 7.”
