JAY Washington heads the list of notable players whose names are not on the initial roster released by the PBA recently for the 44th season.
Washington, the No. 1 pick in the 2005 draft, was not included in the line-up of Rain or Shine in the roster of teams as of Jan. 10. The two-time Best Player of the Conference has been with the Elasto Painters since 2016.
Sources said Washington is still part of Rain or Shine.
Each squad can still make changes to their opening day roster teams initially submitted until the first game of the season.
Also noticeably absent in the PBA players list for the start of the season are Carlo Lastimosa, Dylan Ababou and Dan Sara, who played for Columbian last season.
Rabeh Al-Hussaini is not in the roster of Blackwater. The former Ateneo center was said to have been suspended after failing to attend several practices.
Another Blackwater player in former Letran guard Mark Cruz is also not in the opening day roster of the Elite.
Former University of Santo Tomas star Jeric Teng also didn’t make it to the roster of NorthPort, while Meralco players Ken Bono, Jason Ballesteros, and Mac Baracael are not included in the opening day roster.
Emman Monfort, Fonzo Gotladera and Jonathan Uyloan, who played for NLEX last season, are also not part of the opening day rosters, while Gryann Mendoza is not in the roster of Magnolia.
Marion Magat and Ronald Pascual are also absent in the list of players for Alaska. Magat is reportedly trying out for NLEX.
Philip Paredes is also not in the TNT line-up after playing for the KaTropa last season.
