PETER June Simon offered no excuses after Star's heartbreaking 103-99 loss to San Miguel in their sudden-death encounter for a semis berth in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.

"Breaks of the game," said the veteran shooting guard, who finished with 21 points in a losing cause for the Hotshots.

Simon was 9 of 15 from the field and 2 of 3 from three point range, but was held scoreless in the pivotal fourth.

He admitted fatigue finally caught up with him.

"First time ko naglaro ng 39 minutes. Fatigue na rin. Pero siyempre do or die ito e, kaya bahala na," said Simon.

He said import Ricardo Ratliffe was a perfect fit for the Hotshots, although he wished the team could have stayed healthy.

"Siguro yung naging healthy lang kami para lumalim yung bench namin," he said of the Hotshots, who missed ace gunner James Yap due to a calf muscle injury.

"Hopefully maka-recover yung mga injured next conference," he said.
