MARC Pingris was delighted to see a familiar face in Tim Cone after Game Four of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals which San Miguel on, 84-80, over Magnolia.
The injured Hotshots stalwart caught up with his former coach in the back entrance of the Smart Araneta Coliseum at the end of the match, after Cone served as part of the TV panel.
Sabi ko first day ko ngayon," Pingris, who won five championships including a grand slam under Cone, said.
Gusto ko nga lips to lips kanina eh ayaw niya, di pa raw ako nag-toothbrush," the 6-4 forward added in jest.
They proceeded to talk basketball and naturally, the conversation shifted to a common tormentor in SMB.
Cone's Ginebra fell to San Miguel in five games in the semifinals, while Pingris' Magnolia is in danger of suffering the same fate when the two squads collide again on Friday at the Mall of Asia.
However, Pingris expressed confidence that his former coach's squad, if in full health, will be one of the few teams who can match up with this powerhouse SMB squad.
