PIDO Jarencio offered no excuses after Globalport’s second straight loss to Alaska in their Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup semifinal showdown on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“Outplayed and outcoached, 'yun lang 'yun,” was Jarencio’s curt reply after emerging from the Batang Pier’s dugout before immediately excusing himself to meet team owner Mikee Romero, who was just a distance away.

The Batang Pier lost Game Three, 82-69, to trail the Aces in the best-of-seven series, 2-1. They won the series opener, 107-93.

Globalport played flat and struggled early on and found themselves trailing from the onset, 26-13.

The Batang Pier were still in the game entering the fourth period with the score tied at 53-all, before the Aces went on a 14-5 tear to stay on top for good, 67-58.

A few minutes later, top gun Terrence Romeo was ejected from the game for committing his second technical foul – following a second motion – against RJ Jazul.

In all, bench points made a big difference as the Batang Pier were outscored, 60-19.

Globalport also shot just 27 percent from the field (24-of-90), including 2-of-30 from three-point range, all courtesy of Romeo, as the Batang Pier tied their career-low for points in a game.

“Magaling lang talaga yung kalaban namin” said the Globalport coach.
