ANTIPOLO – Phoenix will continue to miss the services of Javee Mocon who is still recovering after a procedure to remove bone spurs on his right knee.

Mocon was in the Fuel Masters bench on Friday when they took on the Blackwater Bossing in the PBA Governors Cup, finally being able to walk on his own after being on crutches the past few days.

“First time ko maglakad today, kasi naka-crutches ako the past few days dahil bawal siyang itapak,” said the former San Beda stalwart.

“Pero okay na. Rehab na kami.”

Still, it meant missing a few more games for the Fuel Masters, who went down for the second straight game following a 108-105 loss to the Bossing at the Ynares Center.

“Out for I think two to three weeks,” he said. “Kaso dikit-dikit yung games, so parang mga five to six (games) ang ma-miss ko.”

Phoenix certainly misses Mocon’s all-around game especially after he led the team in scoring in the last Commissioner’s Cup with a 15.1 average, while adding 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Rehab starts Saturday for the 6-foot-3 native of Pampanga.

At the same time, his right arm is being rehabbed too, after being forcibly pulled by Aris Dionisio during the quarterfinals series between Magnolia and Phoenix last conference.

“Sana makabalik na. Miss ko na nga (maglaro),” said Mocon.
