THE injury bug bit Phoenix anew on Friday night.
In a 113-107 win over Converge at the Philsports Arena, the Fuel Masters went another man down after gunner Sean Manganti hurt his ankle.
The 29-year-old said he fell on his own midway through the third period and needed to be assisted by his teammates as he made his way back to the Phoenix bench.
He left the venue with his right foot in a walking booth.

“Yeah, a little bit,” said Manganti when asked if the ankle is swollen.
Another injury is certainly the least coach Mike Jarin wanted as this time as guards Tyler Tio and RR Garcia are both grounded, while Raoul Soyud and even Jason Perkins missed games in the past due to injuries.
“It’s definitely not a good thing for us. We got a few injuries in our team,” said Jarin. “Injuries are like lightning, you don’t know when it’s going to strike.”
While Phoenix isn't using the injuries as an excuse, it’s obvious the lack of personnel was a huge setback for the team which only holds a 2-4 record shortly after the game.
Manganti, who would start sometimes for the FiberXers, finished with only three points before going down with the injury.
“Hopefully it’s not that bad. He twisted his ankle so we’re going to take a look at,” said Jarin of Manganti’s situation. “Hopefully it’s nothing serious.”
Phoenix back in action
Manganti only has a day to rest and recuperate as Phoenix returns to action right away on Sunday against Magnolia at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
