Phoenix is riding wave of good form, but Magnolia presents big hurdle

PHOENIX Pulse goes for its third straight win in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup when it takes on Magnolia on Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Phoenix beat Alaska, 94-80, last Friday to take top spot in the team standings with a 7-1 card and is looking to sustain the momentum in the 7 p.m. game against the Hotshots.

Calvin Abueva dominated the match against his former team, contributing 21 points and 16 rebounds to take Player of the Week honors from the PBA Press Corps.

    The Hotshots, meanwhile, are out to gain momentum after picking up their first win in four games on Saturday with a 92-86 win over Meralco in Cagayan De Oro City.

    Jio Jalalon led the way for Magnolia with 19 points and nine rebounds against Meralco.

    In the day's opening game, Rain or Shine will be raring to return to winning ways against Columbian after bowing to TNT KaTropa, 100-92, last Sunday to drop to 7-2.
