CALASIAO, Pangasinan — Phoenix Pulse took full advantage of the All-Star break by holding a team-building session as part of their build-up for the playoffs of the PBA Philippine Cup.

With Fuel Masters stars participating in the All-Star festivities, the team chose to join the trip not just to witness the festivities but also to prepare for the quarterfinals where they are the No. 1 seed.

Phoenix Pulse coach Louie Alas also said the team held a light practice twice in Dagupan City apart from the team building session.

“Not really a total team practice. We reviewed our plays, then a little talk para kumpleto kami,” said Alas, who incidentally will be coaching the North All-Stars on Sunday night at the Calasiao Sports Complex.

The Fuel Masters have not played since bagging the top seed in the quarterfinals on March 16 against San Miguel, 96-93, in Panabo City.

Alas said the team also showed their support to their teammates in the skills challenge where Rey Guevarra participated in the Slam Dunk contest, with the team even aiding his run to a fifth title to tie Nino Canaleta for the most wins in history.
