PHOENIX'S woes continue to pile up.
The Fuel Masters are set to replace injured import Rob Dozier with Richard Howell, who the team hopes will arrive in time for its PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Friday against Meralco.
Plantar fasciitis has hampered Dozier’s mobility and it was evident in Phoenix's 114-88 loss to TnT Katropa on Sunday.
The former Best Import sustained the injury during the team's debut against Blackwater and he hobbled on the court against TNT.
Team governor Raymond Zorrilla confirmed the injury in a post-game interview.
Howell, a former Best Import like Dozier, suited up for TnT Katropa in the 2014 Commissioner's Cup and steered the team to the finals where it lost to San Mig Super Coffee.
The injury to Dozier came as the Fuel Masters brace for the worse with the fate of star player Calvin Abueva.
The enigmatic forward clotheslined TnT import Terrence Jones in the fourth quarter of their game at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, leading to a flagrant foul penalty 2 infraction and outright ejection.
He has been summoned before the Office of the Commissioner and likely faces suspension.
