PHOENIX Super LPG faces Magnolia Chicken Timplados on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in a bid to force a knockout game in the PBA 48th Season Commissioner’s Cup.
The Fuel Masters collide with the Hotshots in Game Four at 8 p.m. after keeping their finals bid alive over the weekend.
Phoenix controlled the boards
Phoenix defeated Magnolia, 103-85, after coming back from a 21-point deficit in Game Three to finally capture a win after dropping two close matches.
The Fuel Masters outrebounded the Hotshots, 53-45, 13 of which coming from the offensive end that resulted into 23 second chance points.
Jarin sees Magnolia's fightback
Head coach Jamike Jarin said he expects a huge bounce back from Magnolia.
“Definitely, coach Chito and Magnolia will be coming in strong on Game Four,” said Jarin.
Phoenix aims to maintain its collaborative approach in Game Four, building on the balanced performance witnessed on Wednesday where six players achieved double figures. Johnathan Williams spearheaded the effort, contributing 19 points and securing 15 rebounds.
Magnolia still had its usual numbers from Tyler Bey after the import had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Noticeably missing though was the backcourt of the Hotshots after Mark Barroca and Jio Jalalon were limited to only 11 points combined, shooting just 4-of-19 from the field.
Jalalon only had four markers in Game Three, a conference low.
