PHILSPORTS Arena could be the backdrop for the champion of the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup - and a possible Grand Slam.
Due to concerts previously booked at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum and the Mall of Asia Arena, Games 6 and 7 of the Philippine Cup finals between TNT and San Miguel on July 25 and 27, respectively, will be at the Pasig venue controlled by the Philippine Sports Commission.

The 10,000-seat venue now looms as the possible site for the crowning of a historic fifth Grand Slam if the Tropang 5G go on to win against the Beermen in the race-to-four series.
TNT, SMB's history in Philsports Arena
The holding of the final two games of the title series at Philsports Arena isn’t such a bad thing for both TNT and San Miguel.
For starters, SMB's 1988 Grand Slam was finished off at the venue formerly known as the ULTRA and the sole home of the PBA when they defeated Anejo, 122-111, in Game 5 on December 12 of that year.
And when San Mig Coffee captured the second of three titles during its magical 2013-14 run, the Mixers also did it at the Philsports Arena when they beat Talk ‘N Text, 100-91, on May 15, 2014.
That was the last time that a PBA champion was crowned at the Pasig venue.
It was also at Philsports when the Beermen started their 'Beeracle' when they defeated Alaska, 110-104, in overtime in Game 4 of the 2015-16 Philippine Cup.

For this current all-Filipino finals, Games 1 to 3, which will be on July 13, 16, and 18, will all be played at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum before shifting to the Mall of Asia Arena for Game 4 on July 20.
If necessary, Game 5 will go back to the Big Dome on July 23.
