ANTIPOLO – CJ Perez expects things to further heat up in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals by Sunday when Game 3 shifts to the Mall of Asia Arena.
After a total of 60 fouls were called in Friday’s game won by San Miguel over TNT, 111-92, at the Ynares Center, the 32-year-old guard doesn’t see the physicality of the title series waning down.

“We just need to embrace it kasi that’s basketball,” said Perez.

The former NCAA MVP from Lyceum finished with 13 points, including 10 in the final quarter when he led the defending champions' mop-up job against the Tropang 5G before fouling out with 3:36 remaining and the Beermen safely on top, 95-80.
The calls on CJ
It’s the second time in the last three games that Perez got into foul trouble, counting SMB's 101-88 closeout game against Barangay Ginebra in the semifinals.
The San Miguel star said he was just trying to be more aggressive, especially after the Beermen’s 96-91 loss in the series opener.
“Sa leeg yung tama ng anim na fouls ko,” he said in between laughs.
“Mistake ko rin kasi nagga-gamble ako. Naano lang ako sa physicality, akala ko hindi sila tatawag nang ganun. Pero it’s their (referees) decision naman. It’s for me para mag-adjust.”
