TERRENCE Romeo won’t have to wear taped shoes anymore.
The PBA superstar can proudly wear what appears as his own signature shoe for Peak after the Chinese brand posted a peek of the special sneaker on its Facebook page on Friday night.
The post didn’t exactly mention it was Romeo’s first signature shoe, but it has a red upper and a “TR” logo at the tongue, not to mention a “#1” as its caption,
That would make Romeo the first Asian to have a signature basketball shoe with a major brand, joining the likes of NBA stars Tony Parker and Matthew Dellavedova, among others.
Romeo has been wearing a generic model since he signed with Peak last year, before he wore taped-up Nike Kobe 9s since the start of the Governors’ Cup while was his new shoe was under construction.
The GlobalPort star has actually worn his new pair in the team’s 118-107 loss to Blackwater last Sunday in Antipolo, but declined to make a statement about it. He also wore it on Gilas practice recently.
Expect Romeo to promote his show as he conducts a three-day “No Borders Camp 2017” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month.
“See you on Oct 26-28!” says the caption on Romeo’s retweet of Peak’s Twitter post.
