THE PBA has excused NLEX veteran Larry Fonacier from skipping the league’s bubble to be held in Pampanga next month since his absence has the blessing of his mother team, Commissioner Willie Marcial said.
“Kung nagkasundo ang teams, okay sa akin,” said Marcial during a press conference on Thursday. “Nagkaintindihan sila kaya sila pinayagan.”
Fonacier has decided to skip the bubble due to a 'family matter' and the former Ateneo standout has the permission of NLEX coach Yeng Guiao to miss the remainder of the Philippine Cup.
Fonacier has also been missing practices but was excused by the Road Warriors management.
Marcial said that at the moment, he has no knowledge of anyone skipping the bubble for similar reasons.
“Hanggang kay Larry lang. Bukod dun, wala na,” said Marcial.
But Marcial warns that players who opt out of the bubble without clearance from their mother ballclubs faces serious repercussions from the league.
“Nakakontrata ka dun. Kung okay ang team sa 'yo, pinayagan ka, okay lang. Okay sa amin sa Commissioner’s Office. Ang problema, kung hindi ka pinayagan, doon tayo mag-uusap,” said Marcial.
