THE Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is celebrating its 42nd anniversary with a bang on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Highlighting the event that has HMR Phils, KServico Trade Inc., Turks Shawarma, TCL and Cloudfone as sponsors, is the debut of the league’s new theme jingle.
“We owe our fans a great deal of gratitude. They are the reason why the PBA remains strong through these years,” said league commissioner Chito Narvasa.
“We can’t thank them enough. All we can offer them is a promise that the Commissioner’s Office, the team owners, and the Board of Governors will continue to work hard to ensure them of top notch games. We are also improving on our social media platform to keep them informed on all the happenings around the league and get them closer to their favorite players.”
“Your PBA is not just about its officials, its teams, its players. Dahil ang PBA ay ikaw, ako, tayong lahat, WE ARE PBA,” he added.
Narvasa said selected film clips of games during its formative years and the present will also be shown in the big screen inside the MOA Arena every quarter of Sunday’s double-header that pits Mahindra against TNT Ka Tropa and Ginebra versus Star.
The league will also be giving away television sets, smart phones, and other valuable items on its foundation day celebration, according to PBA media bureau chief Willie Marcial.
Free general admission tickets are also in store to the first 1,000 early birds.
