THE PBA will donate the proceeds of Game One of the 49th Season Governors’ Cup Finals between TNT and Barangay Ginebra to victims of typhoon Kristine.
The PBA leadership led by chairman Ricky Vargas and vice chairman Alfrancis Chua announced the gesture during Thursday’s finals press conference held in Taguig City even with the typhoon battering Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

“Nag-usap kami ni commissioner at chairman. We decided that Sunday’s game, ‘yung proceeds nun, lahat ido-donate namin,” said Chua.
Vargas added: “’Yung ibibigay ng PBA para sa mga nasalanta, we will entrust it to the Alagang Kapatid Foundation and it will report on how they used the proceeds that was given by the PBA.”
Game One will be held on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City, amid the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Kristine, which has brought flooding to different areas of Luzon such as Camarines Sur.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the league will also look for sponsors for additional donations that will help in the relief efforts outside of the gate receipts.

“Kung sino pa ang gustong tumulong, sana tulungan natin lahat ‘yung mga kapatid natin,” said Chua.
For his part, TNT coach Chot Reyes said his former players during his time with Gilas Pilipinas will also chip in for the typhoon victims, a tradition done by the team even in past calamities.
