    PBA teams rushing to strike deals as Nov. 6 trade deadline approaches

    THE PBA trading block has never been so busy than it was for the past three weeks.

    Fourteen players, including big names like Christian Standhardinger, Chris Banchero, and Bobby Ray Parks Jr., have changed teams in the five deals that were approved by the PBA Commissioner's Office over the past few weeks.

    With deals being consummated left and right, one couldn't help but wonder: what gives?

    Marcial's explanation is quite simple.

    "Naghahabol yung teams natin sa trade deadline," Marcial shared, pointing to the November 6 trade deadline.

    Clubs have been busy stocking up on talent, in the hope of improving their respective squads in time for the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup playoffs.

    These trades show the teams are making a last-ditch push in their desire to deny San Miguel a historic grand slam.


      The trade ban, however, won't last long as the league will once again allow trades by also-ran teams in time for the 2019 PBA Draft, set on December 8.

      Marcial said that as customary in the past rookie selection proceedings, no trades will be entertained on the floor.

      However, an interesting quirk here is that with the draft being held right in the middle of the playoffs, teams which are still alive in the semifinals are barred from entering transactions which involve their players for obvious reasons.
