The Beermen raised their record to 3-1 following the bounce back win that came in the heels of their 98-95 overtime loss to league leader Magnolia Hotshots before the Holy Week break.
Blackwater on the other arrested a two-game skid with its first win of the conference, while dealing Northport a second straight loss for a similar 1-2 slate.
Barangay Ginebra suffered its first loss for an even 1-1 record.
Here now are the takeaways in the Smart Araneta Coliseum doubleheader during the weekend.
1.CJ PEREZ GETS OUT OF HIS OFFENSIVE FUNK

The San Miguel wingman finally got into the offensive groove in the season-ending meet as he spearheaded the team’s dominance of Ginebra.
The 31-year-old, former Best Player of the Conference and Finals MVP had a team-high 23 points, spiked by six rebounds and five assists.
He was 8-of-14 from the field including 2-of-4 from the four-point arc, both of which he buried to diffuse two separate comeback runs by the Kings in the final quarter, clutch shots which Ginebra coach Tim Cone said ‘really crushed any kind of uprising that we were trying to make twice.’
2.JUNE MAR FAJARDO A POSITIVE FORCE AGAINST GINEBRA

The eight-time MVP was the only player to finish in double-double in the Beermen-Kings tussle. He had 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while adding 12 rebounds in 37 minutes of play.
He ended up a +26 for San Miguel which Cone describes as incredible. “He really outplayed us while he was on the floor,” said Cone of the 6-foot-10 Beerman.
3. DAVID - BAREFIELD DUO MAKES BOSSING INTERESTING

Where Sedrick Barefield and Christian David go, the Bossing will follow. After the duo struggled in the team’s 111-80 loss to Converge, the two bounced back with huge numbers in the 22-point blowout against the Batang Pier.
Barefield finished with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals, while shooting 5-of-8 from three-point range.
David meanwhile, made up for his scoreless stint against the FiberXers by going for 19 points and six rebounds in a performance he capped with an 8-of-12 shooting from the field.
