THE PBA Governors’ Cup just resumed on Wednesday, but the league is looking at another long break a month from now.
The final conference of Season 50 will have to take another respite by the end of the quarterfinals to give way to the country’s campaign in the fifth window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the season-ending tournament will go to a break from Nov. 10 to Dec. 3
The Governors’ Cup best-of-five quarterfinals starts on Oct. 25.
Gilas is expected to start practicing once the league takes a break on Nov. 11.
“Magbe-break ulit tayo ng November to give way sa Gilas na naman,” said Marcial, pointing to the Nov. 27 and 29 qualifiers in Seremban, Malaysia, where the Philippines will take on Syria and Malaysia, respectively.

The third conference won’t resume until Dec. 4 for the start of the best-of-five semifinals.
Marcial expects the finals to start by Dec. 16 and ends on the 30th.
“So may laro tayo ng Pasko (Dec. 25). Finals yun,” said the commissioner.
Dec. 25 falls on a Friday.
