BLACKWATER snapped a four-game losing skid, capturing only its second win at the expense of fellow minnow Terrafirma, 96-86, on Wednesday in the PBA 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
George King had his usual impact offensively while Justin Chua and Mike Ayonayon stepped up among the locals in the win that improved Blackwater’s record to 2-7 and kept its flickering quarterfinal hopes alive.
Terrafirma stayed winless through 10 games.

King had 26 points but had to earn his baskets after making 9-for-31 from the field. He also grabbed 12 rebounds and three steals for the Bossing.
Chua had 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Ayonayon continued his stellar play when he chipped in 15 points for Blackwater.

Bossing head coach Jeff Cariaso said the losing streak was enough motivation to pick things up in the battle between teams that occupy the last two spots.
“The fact that you lose four in a row, that is a motivation. I think despite who we were going to be up against tonight, it just happened to be Terrafirma, at this moment, the idea is just to keep pushing,” said Cariaso.
Blackwater only led by five points midway in the fourth, 84-79, but went on a 12-4 run to make it a 96-83 lead with 1:55 left in the game.
Brandon Edwards finished with 29 points and 16 rebounds, while Louie Sangalang chipped in 17 points and seven rebounds for Dyip.
