THE PBA has suspended two referees who worked Game Three of the Governors’ Cup quarterfinal series between Converge and San Miguel.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said referees Peter Balao and Joel Baldago will be suspended for one to two rotations for the way they handled an incident late in the first quarter when Converge’s Alec Stockton hit San Miguel’s Kris Rosales with an elbow.

Stockton was initially slapped with a flagrant foul penalty two that was later downgraded to flagrant foul penalty one after a review, allowing the FiberXers player to stay in the game instead of being automatically ejected.
Stockton later drained the game-winning shot as Converge completed its comeback from 27 points down to beat San Miguel, 114-112.
Three PBA refs now banned
The league has now suspended three referees in these playoffs alone.
Rey Yante was also banned for the rest of the conference for missing the goaltending call against Jhonard Clarito in Game Three of the quarterfinals between Rain or Shine and Magnolia.
