    PBA Press Corps to hold summer journalism workshop for students

    THE PBA Press Corps will hold its first-ever Summer Journalism Workshop in partnership with Meralco on Thursday at the Seminar Hall, (Tech Services Bldg), Meralco compound, Ortigas Ave., in Pasig City.

    Sixty delegates from three campuses - Polytechnic University of The Philippines-Sta.Mesa, EARIST as well as Universidad de Manila (UDM) will be taking part in the initial staging of the day-long summer workshop. 

    PBA Season 39 chairman Ramon Segismundo, who represents Meralco in the board, will open the summer workshop at 9 a.m.

    "We believe this summer workshop will greatly benefit college students, who dream or aspire to become media practitioners in the future," said PBA Press Corps president Barry Pascua of Bandera.

    Former PBA Press Corps president Musong Castillo of the Inquirer heads the list of speakers.

    Castillo, who has been covering the sports beat since 1992 beginning with the now-defunct Manila Chronicle, will talk about sportswriting. 

    PBA Press Corps treasurer Richard Dy of Spin.ph will speak about newswriting and feature writing while longtime photojournalist Tony Pionilla of the Manila Bulletin will discuss photojournalism.
