PBA players from the MVP group undergo COVID-19 tests as the league takes another step toward the planned resumption of the season.
The Meralco Bolts were first to take tests on Monday followed by the NLEX Road Warriors on Thursday, with the TNT KaTropa slated to also be tested next week.
The test was upon orders of team owner Manny V. Pangilinan during their ‘kumustahan’ session last May 20, according to a report by the PBA website.
The PBA is set to submit a letter to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) in hopes of getting a go-signal for the resumption of practices.
The players and coaching staff of San Miguel Beermen, Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia Hotshots underwent COVID-19 tests last week, all coming up negative.
The PBA is requiring players and coaches to undergo tests before getting the green light to practice, the first stage in the phased return plans.
