THE PBA has stayed tightlipped on the brewing issues surrounding the league, particularly on Kiefer Ravena’s decision to sign with the Shiga Lakestars in the Japanese B.League.
Friday’s press conference centered on the league being allowed by the government to proceed with its 46th season on PBA, but declined comment on other issues concerning the league.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, however, promised that the league will address the matter on a different time.
“’Yung ibang issue, pangako po, magpepresscon uli kami,” said Marcial.
Controversy arose after an announcement by the Shiga Lakestars that Ravena will be playing for the Japanese ballclub for the 2021-2022 season.
The PBA, however, said Ravena’s move is a violation of a live contract he signed between not just NLEX but also with the league through the Uniform Players Contract (UPC).
NLEX, though, has already given Ravena the blessing to play in Japan.
The Board of Governors on Wednesday discussed the Ravena issue, but SPIN.ph sources revealed that the discussion turned “ugly.” The source added NLEX is also facing sanctions from the league for allowing Ravena to sign with the Lakestars.
Shiga has already announced its 12-man roster for the 2021-2022 season with Ravena included.
