AS part of the league’s efforts to bring fans back to the venue, the PBA has lowered its ticket prices for opening day of the 49th Season on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
A look at the Ticketnet website shows that the price for lower box, upper box, and general admission tickets on Sunday was at P49 in commemoration of the league’s 49th season.
Ticket prices for the premium box, patron A, patron B, and patron C are pegged at P1,000, P635, P485, and P385 for opening day, which will feature the 48th Season Leo Awards, opening ceremony, and a lone game between Meralco and Magnolia.

PBA chairman Ricky Vargas announced the lowering of the ticket prices during the league’s pre-season press conference, and hinted that the P49-peso promo will be extended during the season.
“Being the 49th season, sabi ng board, why don’t we do something special sa opening. So dahil 49, the board has agreed that all tickets, first-come, first-served, upper box and above, will be P49,” said Vargas.
“And during opening day, tickets will be P49 for everybody who would come and watch opening day,” said Vargas.
Although the league is receiving good ratings on TV, the PBA stressed the need to bring back fans to the venue during the board's planning session a few weeks ago in Osaka, Japan.

“We are looking at many ways where we can engage the fans in the coliseum when they come back,” said Vargas.
