THE PBA has launched a social media campaign called #PBAItuloyAngLaban in an effort to help the government in its fight against COVID-19.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said the campaign aims to create awareness that the fight against COVID-19 is not yet over and encourage the public to practice safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.
“Inilunsad natin ang #PBAItuloyAngLaban upang bigyan diin ang kahalagahan ng pagsunod nating lahat sa mga safety protocols na ipinatutupad ng gobyerno. Ito lang ang paraan upang mapababa natin ang pagkalat ng coronavirus,” said Marcial.
The PBA is making the effort especially following recent developments where COVID-19 cases would have to decrease in order for the league to be able to be allowed by the government to play its season in a closed-circuit format.
Some players and coaches have already posted such hashtag on their respective social media accounts to support the undertaking.
The PBA will make an appeal to the Inter-Agency Task Force to hold scrimmages starting May 16 in order to jumpstart the season.
The league has also gained an approval from Batangas City to hold practices with the area having less restrictions compared to Metro Manila, which is still under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
