THE PBA celebrated Independence Day by honoring the Philippine athletes bound for the Paris Olympics as well as the men and women in the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.
San Miguel and Meralco players wore shirts that had the names of the Filipino Olympians set to compete in Paris in July during their warm-ups ahead of Game Four of the 48th Season Philippine Cup Finals.

Among the Filipino athletes that will compete in the Olympics are pole vaulter EJ Obiena, gymnast Carlos Yulo, and boxers Eumir Marcial, Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, Aira Villegas, and Hergie Bacyadan.
Incidentally, Gilas Pilipinas will be vying for a place in the Paris Games in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Latvia from July 2 to 7.
Tribute to Olympics-bound athletes
Meanwhile, about 200 uniformed personnel from the AFP and PNP were among the guests in Game Four at the Big Dome.
