Teams hit the road for PBA Governors Cup playoffs with Laguna, Batangas, Lucena, Philippine Arena hosting games

Sep 26, 2017
Binan will again host PBA games as the playoffs heat up.

THE Philippine Governors Cup will see more games in the playoffs being held on the road.

Alonte Sports Complex in Binan, Laguna hosts Game One of the semifinals on Sunday, followed by another game at the Santa Rosa multi-purpose complex also in Laguna on Oct. 3, before the PBA heads to the Batangas Sports Complex in Batangas City for Game Threee of the Final Four.

The finals will also have games out of town.

The best-of-seven finals open at the Lucena Convention Center in Quezon Province, even as the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan could possibly hosts Game Five of the title series.

“But depende yun kung umabot ng Game Five. Kapag may naka-sweep e di walang game doon,” said Willie Marcial, the league’s head of communication and external affairs.

The league is also looking at the possibility of stagings Games Six and Seven of the finals – if necessary – in the same playing arena in Bulacan.

Then just last Christmas also during the all-Filipino conference, the arena also staged the KIA-Blackwater tussle, capped by the ‘Manila Classico’ encounter between Ginebra and Star.
