    PBA draft extension gives Desiderio window of opportunity to turn pro

    PAUL Desiderio and other last-minute entrants will have one more week to make up their mind as the PBA has extended its deadline for the filing of applications for the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.

    From the original December 3 deadline, the league has extended the window for the filing of application forms to December 10.

    The adjustment now gives graduating players from the UAAP, especially those playing in the Finals for Ateneo and University of the Philippines, the opportunity to join the draft at the end of the season.

    Desiderio should be under close watch.

    Desiderio's stock has gone up after his late-game heroics enabled the Fighting Maroons to reach the UAAP Finals for the first time in 32 years.

    The Cebuano guard, if he decides to enter, is expected to be picked in the top half of the draft proceedings, scheduled on December 16 at Robinson's Midtown in Ermita, Manila.

    Columbian Dyip own the number one pick in the annual rookie selection proceedings, with guys like CJ Perez, Bobby Ray Parks, and Robert Bolick all expected to figure in the top three.
