PBA does its share by donating P1 million to victims of super typhoon Yolanda

THE Philippine Basketball Association is doing its share in efforts to help thousands of families affected by super typhoon Yolanda.

League chairman Ramon Segismundo of Meralco announced on Monday the PBA is donating P1 million as its way of lending help to victims of the typhoon considered as one of the strongest ever recorded in history.

“The PBA, through commissioner Chito Salud and the board of governors, is donating P1 million to the Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. for our countrymen affected by super typhoon Yolanda,” said Segismundo in a statement.

The Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. is the public service arm of TV5 which is currently holding a telethon for the relief efforts.

“This is proof of the strength of our collaboration and partnership between the PBA and TV5,” added Segismundo.

“We stand united in alleviating the hardships of our kababayans in this latest disaster.”
