RAIN of Shine's appeal on the one-game suspension slapped on import Jaylen Johnson for figuring in a fight against TNT bruiser Glenn Khobuntin was denied by the PBA Commissioner's Office on Monday.
ROS coach Yeng Guiao said they filed an appeal on the premise that although Johnson threw punches in the fracas that erupted in the final six-minute park of their 112-109 win on Friday, it was only in retaliation to a Khobuntin attack.

"We filed [an appeal] this afternoon. It was denied after three hours," Guiao told SPIN.ph.
Guiao added: "Si kume [Willie Marcial] mismo tinanong ko, 'Kung ikaw sapakin ko, hindi ka gaganti?' Gaganti daw sya ... sabi ko bakit si Jaylen hindi pwede gumanti?"
The decision of the PBA Commissioner's Office leaves Rain or Shine without an import when it goes for a third straight win against the Meralco Bolts in the first game of a double-header on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Meralco, incidentally, is the sister team of TNT.
"Masama sa optics na nakinabang ang isang team sa ginawa ng sister team," Guiao said.
