THE PBA will summon Calvin Abueva as the league conducts an investigation into the accusations made by Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and his girlfriend Maika Rivera.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said he has assigned the league’s legal counsel Melvin Mendoza to conduct the probe into accusations that Abueva made lewd gestures and called Rivera a 'bitch' during the Phoenix-Blackwater game on Friday night.
Marcial said he could also call Parks and Rivera to once again get their side of the incident.
Parks accused Abueva of making lewd gestures at his girlfriend and calling her a b***h during Friday’s 103-98 win by Phoenix Pulse over Blackwater.
In his defense, Abueva said he only retaliated after Rivera cursed at him, flashed a dirty finger, and called him a 'monkey.'
Marcial said he has already spoken to Abueva, Parks, and Rivera following the incident. He also apologized to Rivera, who cried following the incident.
“Nag-sorry ako kasi fan ka. Kahit hindi mo girlfriend ‘yun, kahit sino ‘yun, fan pa rin ‘yun,” said Marcial.
