BARANGAY Ginebra and San Miguel clash in a marquee match-up in the 2022-23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

Winners of two in a row, Barangay Ginebra moved to fourth place with a 4-2 win-loss record after 111-90 beating of Terrafirma on Oct. 28. A victory will keep them in within striking distance of Converge and Bay Area, in joint second at 6-2.

San Miguel is also on a two-game run. With a 3-3 record, the Beermen are in eighth place and will look to go up the ladder in the team standings following a slow start to the conference.

Devon Scott, the Beermen’s third import in the conference, will be tested as it goes up against the frontline of Japeth Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger.

Justin Brownlee will also look to deliver once again for Ginebra in the marquee match-up against San Miguel, which will still play without June Mar Fajardo after undergoing throat surgery.

In the first game, Magnolia Chicken Timplados seeks to maintain first place in the team standings as it takes on Blackwater at 4:30 p.m.

The Hotshots return from a long break after their match against Rain or Shine last Oct. 29 was postponed due to tropical storm Paeng. Magnolia is still looking for that bounce-back game after it was defeated by Barangay Ginebra, 103-97, on Oct. 23.

With a 3-5 win-loss record, Blackwater is out to get out of its losing streak that is now at two. The Bossing were defeated by Converge, 77-71, on Oct. 30.
