THE PBA Commissioner's Office is collating all video evidence available before deciding on possible actions against players accused of hitting a streaker in Spiderman suit who disrupted Game 5 of the 2019 Philippine Cup Finals.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said officials are in the process of gathering all available videos, both from official television coveror ESPN5 and outside sources, of the incident that marred Magnolia's 88-86 win over San Miguel on Friday night.
Once a detailed report is done, Marcial said he will issue summons to players who acted wrongly during the commotion.
"Kinokolekta namin lahat ng available na videos. We hope to complete that by tomorrow," said Marcial. "Kung ano man ang makikita doon, ipapatawag natin ang mga dapat ipatawag."
As it is, SMB veteran Ronald Tubid has already apologized for punching the streaker, later identifed as Palo Felizarta, 31, as he was being led away from the Araneta Coliseum court by security men.
On the other hand, eyewitness accounts claim SMB big man Kelly Nabong hit another man who was suspected of aiding the streaker.
Marcial said he understands the initial anger of the players, saying most of them feared the streaker entered the court to deliberately hurt June Mar Fajardo.
"Doon nanggaling 'yung galit nila," Marcial said. "Pero kung may ginawa sila, mali pa rin 'yon."
At the same time, Marcial said he will also talk to ESPN5 officials for on-air comments made by veteran TV panelist Magoo Marjon at the height of the commotion.
Marjon was heard saying 'What an idiot' on national television while describing the strange scenes late in Game 5 and later staunchly defended his comment on Twitter.
"Ibibigay pansin natin 'yan sa kanila," said Marcial.
