THE PBA is set to fine Magnolia coach Chito Victolero for furiously confronting both game and technical officials in the aftermath of contentious Game 3 between the Hotshots and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the Governors’ Cup quarterfinals.
Victolero went straight to the table officials after the Hotshots’ 111-106 overtime loss to the Elasto Painters to complain about the lategoal-tending violation called against Jhonard Clarito on a Zavier Lucero shot in the final 10 seconds.
The Magnolia coach had to be restrained by deputies Jason Webb, Tonyboy Espinosa, and liason officer Jojo Peralta before heading to the Magnolia dugout.
“May fine 'yun. Matic yan,” said commissioner Willie Marcial on Monday.
Also being reviewed was the video of Paul Lee angrily talking to a referee at the end of Magnolia’s final play where Clarito stole the inbound pass intended for the veteran Hotshots guard.
All players and coaches are not allowed to approach the technical officials after every game and should proceed directly to their locker room.

The bone of contention was the goal-tending infraction on Lucero’s fastbreak layup which initially appeared to have been blocked by Clarito with Magnolia trailing, 106-104.
No call was made, and the Hotshots were forced to foul as instructed by the coaching staff should they miss in their possession.
Jerick Ahanmisi fouled Gian Mamuyac, but only after the dead ball situation was the previous play reviewed and a goal-tending violation was called on Clarito and the basket was counted for a 106-all contest.

But at the same time, the foul called on Ahanmisi stayed, resulting in two free throws for Mamuyac.
The Rain or Shine guard split his foul shots, but import Aaron Fuller secured the offensive rebound, paving the way for two more Rain or Shine free throws that stretched the lead to three.
Lee meanwhile, appeared to be complaining about the supposed bump made by Clarito after the ball was inbounded to him in Magnolia's final possession, leading to a steal and two Clarito free throws for the marginal score.
