PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial has drawn the line with regards to the repeated rough plays of big man Mike Miranda.
Marcial warned the new TnT Katropa acquisition of stiffer sanctions if he continues to do the same stunts like his closed-fist hit on Justin Chua of Phoenix in last week's PBA Philippine Cup game.
The 6-foot-6 Miranda was caught hitting Chua in the midsection in the final 10 seconds of overtime in the game won by the Fuel Masters, 93-84, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Saturday.
The physical play earned Miranda a one-game suspension and a fine of P30,000. Marcial said he won't hesitate throwing the book at the former San Sebastian stalwart with a repetition of the incident.
Not lost on the commissioner was Miranda committing the same violation in the past.
"Sorry na naman ng sorry, laging sorry di ko na uulitin," Marcial said of his meeting with Miranda on Monday when he was summoned at the PBA office in Libis.
"Sabi ko sa kanya sa susunod na gawin niya ulit yun, wala ng summon. Automatic fine and suspension agad. Hindi ko na papakinggan ano pa man ang sasabihin niya," added the commissioner during the PBA Press Corps 25th Annual Awards Night.
Marcial bared the next time Miranda make the same mistake, he will be fined P60K and suspended for three games.
"Palaki ng palaki yan," he said.
Chua said Miranda accused him of undercutting the TnT big man which he vehemently denied.
"Nananahod daw ako. E kahit i-review yung game tape, wala akong ginagawang ganun sa kanya," said the Phoenix center.
Miranda, who earned a big break playing for coach Yeng Guiao during his time with NLEX, begged off from an interview after the game.
But he has had a bad history in the past as far as rough plays were concerned.
He was involved in a fistfight with Poy Erram during a tune-up game betwee NLEX and Blackwater in 2017 and was caught kicking Chris Ross in the groin during last year's Philippine Cup.
