THE PBA Commissioner’s Office has formally approved the trade between Columbian Dyip and Magnolia involving Jackson Corpuz and Aldrech Ramos.
The one-on-one deal meant the Hotshots acquiring an additional defender at the wings in Corpuz, who was undrafted in 2014.
In return, the Dyip will get a ‘stretch 4’ in Ramos, a first round draftee in 2012, but has gotten little playing time with the Hotshots of late.
Columbian Dyip coach Johnedel Cardel said acquiring a big man in the 31-year-old Ramos has become a necessity for the franchise after letting go of veteran center JayR Reyes.
Corpuz, though, has been a key player in Cardel’s rotation the past two seasons, serving as one of the team’s top defenders in the perimeter who averages 8.1 points and 4.3 rebounds this year in 22 minutes of play.
Ramos’ numbers had dip this season, seeing action in seven minutes of play and averaging 7.6 points and 1.3 rebounds.
