PAUL Lee will sit out Magnolia's PBA Philippine Cup game against Blackwater on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena as he remains day-to-day while nursing an ankle injury.
Lee said the left ankle sprain he suffered in the Hotshots' game against TnT Katropa last week is now feeling better, although there is still significant swelling that has kept him out of practice the last few days.
The Magnolia guard had the injury checked last Monday, with doctors finding no structural damage to the ankle.
"High-grade sprain nga lang siya kaya matagal mawala 'yung maga," said Lee on Thursday. "Pero yun lang naman ang nakitang injury. Wala ng iba."
The Hotshots currently share the top spot with defending champion San Miguel at 5-1, and a win over the skidding Elite in the 4:30 p.m. game would give them the solo lead.
The Beermen will be up next for Magnolia on Sunday, and Lee can't say for sure if he'll already be available to play by then.
"Kailangan mawala muna yung maga bago ako makapag-practice at makalaro," said the 29-year-old combo guard from Tondo.
"Kaya day-to-day muna yung sitwasyon ko," he said.
Lee suffered the sprain following an awkward fall after colliding in midair with Troy Rosario in the Hotshots' 91-83 win over the Katropa.
