PAUL Lee admitted he was bothered by his hurting left shoulder on Sunday as Magnolia missed a chance to close the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals out.
"Yeah, a little bit," he curtly replied after the Hotshots' 98-86 Game Six defeat to defending champion San Miguel. "Medyo stiff lang siya. Ginagawa ko lang kung ano yung hanggang saan yung kaya kong gawin."
Painful as his shoulder was, the Tondo-raised dribbler still finished with 10 points on a 4-of-9 shooting, to go with seven rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes of play.
Unfortunately, Magnolia could not overcome the early flurry from San Miguel as the five-peat-seeking champions went on an early 25-12 run and controlled the game from there.
Lee was quick to put the loss behind him, pointing out that there's a Game 7 to play.
"Siguro wag lang bumaba ang energy namin from start to finish," he said. "Hustle lang kami. Yun lang ang key doon at yung depensa namin hindi dapat mawala."
And who knows, a championship may soon find its way to Magnolia's court.
"Hindi na namin iniisip yun," said Lee of the pressure that comes with a Game 7. "All we're gonna do is just play our game and be ready for Game 7. Wala namang reason para ma-pressure pa kami."
