PAUL Lee was thankful for his first-ever PBA Best Player of the Conference award, but said it will all be for naught if Magnolia fails to win the Governors' Cup championship.
"There are a lot of players who deserve that award. Alam naman natin yun. I just got lucky na nakarating kami ng finals so gumanda yung chance ko lang. Pero alam naman natin, tayong lahat dito, maraming mas may deserve kaysa sa akin," said Lee.
"Of course, very happy, pero yun nga, mas masaya siguro kung matatapos namin itong championship. Kasi lahat ng yun, parang mawawalang kwenta lahat kapag hindi namin nakuha yung championship," he added.
That goal became a lot harder for Lee and the Hotshots after a 90-76 win by Alaska in Game Four left the best-of-seven finals level at 2-2 heading to Game Five on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Lee struggled to find his rhythm in Game Five, making just four of his 13 shots from the field to finish with 14 points.
Lee believes the Hotshots' offense needs to get going.
"Tingin ko okay pa naman, we're good pa rin," said Lee. "Best-of-three. So crucial Game 5. All-out kami doon. Hindi naman na kailangan sabihan ang bawat isa kung gaano ka-importante yung Game 5."
