PAUL Lee gallantly played through the pain in Game Three of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals between Star and San Miguel after sustaining a leg injury the last time the two teams met on Monday night.

Although hurting, the fourth year guard still managed to lead all Star local players with 21 points in a huge effort that went down the drain as the Hotshots lost by a squeker over the Beermen, 111-110 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Lee disclosed after the game the presence of a lump on his leg brought about by his center court collission with Chris Ross during the third quarter of Game Two, which San Miguel won, 77-76.

"Masakit siya kasi may bukol," said the Star standout from University of the East, who was 9 of 15 from the field, had three rebounds and five assists, but commtted six turnovers.

"Buti nga lang wala siyang punit. Pero masakit pa rin hanggang ngayon."

The 29-year-old Lee played hurt the rest of the game after colliding with Ross. He missed three crucial shots in the end game, including a potential game-winning jumper at the buzzer, and finished with only three points on 1-of-8 shooting.

    He also had four turnovers.

Coach Chito Victolero opted not to start Lee on Wednesday and instead, had rookie Jio Jalalon taking his place.

But obviously Lee shrugged off the injury as he scored nine points on 4-of-6 shooting in the nine minutes he saw action in the first half which ended at 56-52 in favor of San Miguel.
