"PARA akong pusa na na-corner sa gilid, lahat ng pasukin ko nakaabang sila lahat."

This was how Paul Lee described Ginebra's stiffling defense on him in Game Seven of their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal playoff, which the Star Hotshots lost, 89-76, on Tuesday before a sellout crowd at the Mall of Asia Arena.

One of the most prolific scorers in the pro league, Lee was held to four points on 2-of-8 shooting from the field in a Game Seven where he was met by a Ginebra defender wherever he went.

The former Rookie of the Year later gave the credit to Ginebra coach Tim Cone, who he said scouted him and the rest of the Hotshots well and threw him off his game.

"Sama rin ng laro ko e. Pinaghandaan din ako ni coach Tim (Cone)," said the former Rain or Shine star. "Hindi ako naka-counter sa ginawa sa akin. Nawala ako sa game.

"After first two games, talagang humirap yung basketball para sakin," he added.

Still, the former University of the East standout said he is heartened to see Star go deep in the playoffs right in his first conference since coming in through a one-on-one trade for James Yap.

"Kahit bago team namin nakarating kami dito. Still happy (sa na-achieve). Lumaban din talaga kami hangga't kaya pa. Yan mga positive na nakita ko," he said.
