PAUL Lee hurt his ankle early in the third period and sat out the rest of Magnolia’s PBA Philippine Cup game against TnT Katropa on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which the Hotshots won, 91-83.
Lee suffered the injury following an awkward fall after a mid-air collision with big man Troy Rosario while going hard to the hoop and the Hotshots protecting a slim 52-51 lead.
He was later brought inside the Hotshots’ dugout to have the ankle iced in what team insiders initially suspected as a mild sprain.
“Medyo maga 'yung paa niya,” said a Magnolia staff.
Coach Chito Victolero confirmed the injury later at the post-game interview, but allayed fears of the veteran guard missing the Hotshots' next game against Blackwater on Friday.
"I think after mga ilang days makakabalik na rin si Paul. Malaki naman yung puso ng bata na yun, e," he said.
Lee, who underwent knee procedure during the offseason, spent the rest of the game watching the proceedings from the Magnolia dressing room.
He finished with five points, two rebounds, and a single assist, but shot 1-of-6 from the field in the Hotshots' 91-83 win - the fourth straight for the team.
