IT was the perfect way for Paul Lee to bounce back after ‘missing in action’ for Rain or Shine the last time out.

The combo guard came through with 11 points, three rebounds, and five assists in the Elasto Painters’ 108-97 win over Star Hotshots Friday night that kept them in the race for the last playoff berth in the PBA Governors Cup.

The former Rookie of the Year had seven of his total output in the second quarter when the Elasto Painters outscored the opposition, 26-15, for a 54-41 lead at the half.

Lee admitted it was his way of atoning after being held to just two points in the team’s sorry 82-75 loss to defending champion San Miguel last week.

“Sa PBA ganun naman. Hindi ka puwedeng ma-stuck sa nangyari sa iyo. Mababaon ka lang lalo.”

Chan also did his thing, scoring nine points and grabbing four rebounds in Rain or Shine’s final game of the eliminations as the team finished tied for eighth place with Phoenix in the standings on 5-6 cards.

Lee said Guiao didn’t say anything to him this time.

“Wala naman. Kapag ganyang nagkakaroon ka ng bad game, hindi ka na kailangang sabihan ni coach,” he said. “Alam mo kung ano yung dapat mong gawin. Yun ang team namin.”
