ROOKIE Paul Desiderio joined Blackwater's growing injury list as he was down with the flu on Friday and failed to suit up in the team’s PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against Phoenix at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Desiderio has missed practice the day before, according to team manager Pat Aquino, and was not around when the Elite suffered a 100-98 loss to the debuting Fuel Masters.
“Kahapon pa siya wala kasi may trangkaso,” said Aquino.
Desiderio, the No. 4 overall pick in the last rookie draft, is the second Blackwater player out with an injury after big man Raymar Jose.
The third-year forward is suffering from vertigo and has not seen action for the Elite this conference.
“Meron siyang vertigo and he needs to rest more,” said Aquino of Jose, the third pick overall in the 2017 draft.
The loss to the Fuel Masters was the first for the Elite after winning their first three games of the meet.
