RENALDO Balkman’s patience was tested on Saturday after a commotion with Ian Sangalang in San Miguel Beer’s 101-97 loss to Magnolia in the last day of PBA Commissioner’s Cup eliminations at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The once-temperamental SMB import has proven to be a changed man five years after choking teammate Arwind Santos that led to his ban from the league.
But on Saturday, shades of the old Balkman almost resurfaced as he got entangled with the Hotshots star local big man following a box-out play late in the fourth quarter.
Balkman and Sangalang then engaged in a stare-down battle before cooler heads separated them.
Balkman, though, quickly came back to his senses as he patched things up by approaching Sangalang at the Hotshots bench moments after the heated situation.
