ALVIN Pasaol is weighing his options as the losses continue to pile up for University of the East in UAAP Season 81.
The league’s top scorer bared that he plans to spend one more year with the Red Warriors, but their current is making him rethink his plans.
Despite getting monster numbers of 24 points and 10 rebounds from the 6-foot-3 forward, the Red Warriors are still dead last with a 1-11 record.
“Pinagiisipan ko pa kung babalik ako sa UE, I hope mapag-isipan ko na babalik ako. Ngayon tentative pa ako kasi siyempre yun nangyayari ngayon,” said Pasaol after their 80-61 loss to FEU, their seventh straight for the tournament.
Pasaol, who has one year of eligibility left at UE, has has left no doubt about his immense talent, posting huge numbers on a nightly basis, highlighted by a 49-point outing in Season 80.
However, Pasaol's future at UE is full of uncertainty with the Warriors likely to undergo a full rebuild for next season anchored on 6-foot-9 Senegalese transferee Adama Diakhite.
Pasaol has until December 3, the deadline for PBA draft applicants, to decide.
“Yun yung pinagiisipan ko kung maga-apply ako sa PBA draft, yun yung nagba-bother sa akin, pero wala namang naapektuhan sa laro ko,” Pasaol said while adding that he’ll be talking to the UE higher ups about it.
“Wala pa naman, di ko pa sila kinakausap, pero supposed to be kakausapin ko sila about that.”
Against the Tamaraws, Pasaol took 29 shots – resulting in 24 points and that’s something that he doesn’t regret at all.
“Siguro ano yun nga mas marami akong tinira ngayon kasi down na kami, tambak na kami, so kailangan talaga magstep-up,” said Pasaol.
Expect the same effort from Pasaol as he plays possibly his last two games for the Red Warriors.
“Ganun pa rin yung mangyayari, wala namang magbabago, I’m playing my last two games siguro kaya buhos ulit.”
