FORTY seven of the 48 rookie hopefuls showed up on Wednesday in Day One of the 2018 PBA Gatorade Draft Combine at Gatorade Hoops Center along Shaw Boulevard.
Only RR de Leon of University of the East failed to show up for the rookie camp, which automatically took him out of the list for the draft on Sunday at Robinson Place Manila.
Presumptive top selections CJ Perez, Bobby Ray Parks, and Robert Bolick bannered the 47-man cast that underwent measurements and biometric tests in the morning session.
However, it was the lesser-known aspirants who made their mark in the anthropometry tests.
Victoria Sports guard John Ragasa was the fastest among the bunch, completing the Shuttle Run in 21.97 seconds.
FEU playmaker Joe Trinidad distinguished himself as the speediest from the field, completing the 3/4 Court Sprint in just 3.25 seconds.
Center Jeepy Faundo of UST also had the highest Vertical Leap with 33.29 inches, while Dan Wong from Ateneo had the Max Touch (Jump Height) with 39.19 inches.
Mapua guard CJ Isit also impressed in Day One of the combine, tallying the fastest time in Lane Agility with 11.2 seconds, and recording 84-percent in the Reaction Test.
The second day of the Draft Combine continues on Thursday, with the conclusion of the mini-tournament among the rookies.
