The Delta overcame Bulacan DF Republicans, 95-94, at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, and defeated Taguig Generals in overtime, 103-94, at the Montalban Gym. With the victories, Pampanga took the first seed and the outright semifinals spot with an 8-0 win-loss record.
CJ Gania had 17 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and four blocks for Pampanga in the win over Bulacan that saw RV Jumaquio missing a putback in the final seconds to escape.
Gania and Archie Concepcion delivered 22 points apiece for the Delta in the win over the Generals, while Matt De Leon also chipped in 14 points, 21 rebounds, and two blocks in the game that went into an extra period.
Despite the loss, Taguig took the second and final outright semifinal seat after taking the superior quotient over Bulacan and La Union, which also had 7-1 win-loss slates at the end of the eliminations.
Bulacan took the No. 3 spot and will face sixth-seed Quezon City All-Stars in the quarterfinals, with the Republicans holding a twice-to-beat advantage.
La Union finished fourth and will have a twice-to-beat incentive when the PAOwer take on fifth-ranked Camsur Express in the quarterfinals.
